Orthodontics

If you’re seeking to straighten your smile,

then you’re looking in the right place.

What are orthodontics?

Orthodontic treatments are used to improve the appearance and function of a patient’s teeth and/or jaws by using pressure, usually applied through orthodontic appliances such as braces, clear aligners, retainers, and orthodontic headgear.

What to Expect

Our dentists always begin their customised treatment plans with an initial consultation, speaking to you about your individual wants and needs. This is followed by a full evaluation, including medical imaging, to allow us to craft a curated treatment plan for you.

After the treatment plan has been agreed upon, the dentist will begin the fitting process. This involves taking an impression/ digital 3D scans of your teeth to create an appliance that fits perfectly for you.

Over the course of the treatment, the dentist will continue to check up on your progress and make any tweaks or changes necessary to the treatment plan.

F.A.Q.s

Is there an age requirement for orthodontics?

While it is recommended that orthodontics are considered from the age of 7, adults are also more than able to receive this treatment well.

How long does the treatment last?

Braces are a long-term treatment, and therefore can last anywhere between 6 months to 30 months on a case-by-case basis. Most cases will last around 18 months.

What types of braces are available?

Kheng Dental offers a number of options for braces, depending on the needs of each patient. These include:

  • Traditional metal braces

  • Invisalign

  • Clear braces

  • Ceramic braces

  • Self-ligating braces/Damon Braces

How do I maintain my oral hygiene in braces?

Since braces are appliances that sit inside your mouth, you will need to brush your teeth at least 3x a day in order to remove any food that could potentially be caught between the braces, wires and brackets.

Patients are also advised to floss, in order to reach areas of the mouth that brushes are unable to reach.
